We will explore its’ geography, resources, economy, languages and government: also the lives of the early pioneers as they eked out a living from the land and the sea in their new rugged homeland. This is the story of an island. Although connected to Nova Scotia by a causeway since 1955, it is still far enough away from “the mainland” for people to have developed their own ways!
