COURSE – WE’RE NOT AS RATIONAL AS WE THINK WE ARE! – 16.1

A fun look at the many ways our thinking is distorted and how we delude ourselves to protect our self-image. Over the years, psychologists have used the scientific method to better understand how humans think. They’ve discovered that we all have cognitive biases and we use mental shortcuts to solve problems but these shortcuts often lead us astray. And sometimes we change our beliefs to align with our previous behavior rather than admit we were wrong. All in all, we’re far from being rational creatures but maybe knowing more about these fallacies of thought will keep us from falling prey to these misguided ways of thinking in the future.
